WHEREAS, in 2012 the Dulles Area Association of Realtors celebrates 50 years of providing the highest level of assistance to current and future property owners; and
WHEREAS, since it was established on July 1, 1962, as the Loudoun County Board of Realtors, the organization has grown tremendously, expanding its jurisdiction to include more than 1,000 real estate professionals in Loudoun, Clarke, Fairfax, and Prince William Counties; and
WHEREAS, the members of the Dulles Area Association of Realtors study extensively to develop their professional skills and knowledge in an increasingly complex field, and the members all agree to follow the National Association of Realtors code of ethics; and
WHEREAS, in offering advice and guidance to people who are considering a real estate purchase, the Dulles Area Association of Realtors has encouraged the highest standards of practice for those who work in the real estate community; and
WHEREAS, during its long and successful history, the growth of the Dulles Area Association of Realtors has mirrored the population growth and economic development in Loudoun County and the surrounding Northern Virginia area; and
WHEREAS, the Dulles Area Association of Realtors diligently promotes affordable housing and the expansion of home ownership and works to end the scourge of housing discrimination wherever it exists; and
WHEREAS, during challenging economic times, the members of the Dulles Area Association of Realtors have continued to proudly serve area residents in one of the best places to live, work, and raise a family; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend the Dulles Area Association of Realtors on the occasion of its 50th anniversary; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the Dulles Area Association of Realtors as an expression of the General Assembly’s congratulations and respect for its many years of working on behalf of property owners in the Commonwealth.
