WHEREAS, Carroll Comstock ably served Rockbridge County and its residents as a member of the Rockbridge County Board of Supervisors from 2004 to 2012; and

WHEREAS, Carroll Comstock takes great pride in his community and, during his tenure on the board of supervisors, spent considerable time and energy working to enhance the quality of life for all Rockbridge County residents; and

WHEREAS, Carroll Comstock developed strong relationships with other supervisors, community leaders, and local and area officials as he worked cooperatively to study and address complex issues facing Rockbridge County; and

WHEREAS, Carroll Comstock served as chair for one year, guiding the board with great wisdom as it considered a multitude of issues; and

WHEREAS, a thoughtful leader, Carroll Comstock strove to effectively meet constituent needs as he served on the local community services board and PPEA committee; and

WHEREAS, as a member of the Rockbridge Regional Jail Commission, Carroll Comstock provided insightful guidance and direction to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the regional jail; and

WHEREAS, a dedicated public servant, Carroll Comstock demonstrated enthusiasm and commitment as he worked to continue to make Rockbridge County a great place in which to live and visit and now looks forward to spending time with family in retirement; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend Carroll Comstock for his outstanding service and devotion to the residents of Rockbridge County as a member of the board of supervisors; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Carroll Comstock as an expression of the General Assembly’s appreciation for his commitment to public service.
