WHEREAS, Patrick D. Nutz of the Center District of Fauquier County was honored as a 2011 Citizen of the Year by the Fauquier County Board of Supervisors; and

WHEREAS, Patrick Nutz has served Fauquier County with distinction; he is a citizen-at-large member of the Fauquier County Industrial Development Authority, and he also serves on the Fauquier County Airport Committee; and

WHEREAS, Patrick Nutz proudly served the nation as an officer in the United States Air Force, and his outstanding service and devotion to duty serve as a reminder of the commitment and bravery of the members of the armed forces throughout the world; and

WHEREAS, after Patrick Nutz retired, he chose to settle in Fauquier County; he soon became known as a “can-do” person, putting his energy and talents to work on behalf of the people and businesses of Fauquier County; and

WHEREAS, recognizing that implementing focused and well-reasoned industrial and economic development priorities can positively contribute to a community’s quality of life, Patrick Nutz has offered wise counsel and advice as he serves in local government; and

WHEREAS, in his commitment to making a positive difference in Fauquier County, Patrick Nutz is a dedicated public servant and an inspiring role model for all who wish to make their communities a better place; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend and congratulate Patrick D. Nutz as a 2011 Fauquier County Citizen of the Year for the Center District; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Patrick D. Nutz as an expression of the General Assembly’s gratitude for his dedication to the community of Fauquier County.
