Commending Brenda Hooper Campbell.

WHEREAS, Brenda Hooper Campbell faithfully served the residents of the Town of Ridgeway for nearly 17 years as a member of the town council; and

WHEREAS, Brenda Campbell began her service on the town council in 1995 with a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for all residents; and

WHEREAS, as a business owner, Brenda Campbell brought important perspective and experience to the Finance Committee as she worked alongside other council members to ensure a fiscally sound town budget; and

WHEREAS, Brenda Campbell advocated for a new bridge and park to better serve town residents, a renovated building for town employees, and new signage for the town; and

WHEREAS, Brenda Campbell devoted countless hours during her 17-year tenure to responding to constituent concerns, attending meetings, and interacting with various town and area officials on behalf of her fellow residents; and

WHEREAS, a longtime community volunteer, Brenda Campbell has also served on the advisory board and board of trustees for the Virginia Museum of Natural History, on the fundraising committee at Ridgeway Elementary School, and as an ambassador for the American Cancer Society; and

WHEREAS, active in local, state, and national Republican Party efforts, Brenda Campbell has worked with numerous candidates on various campaigns and served in leadership positions with the Southside Republican Women’s Club, Virginia Federation of Republican Women, National Federation of Republican Women, Fifth District Republican Committee, and Henry County Republican Committee; and

WHEREAS, Brenda Campbell also served as a delegate to the Republican National Convention in New York in 2004; and

WHEREAS, throughout her 17-year tenure on the town council, Brenda Campbell strived to make the Town of Ridgeway a better place in which to live, work, and visit; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend Brenda Hooper Campbell for her devoted service to the Town of Ridgeway; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Brenda Hooper Campbell as an expression of the General Assembly’s admiration for her commitment to her fellow residents and best wishes in her future endeavors.
