12105341DWHEREAS, Frances W. Porter retired as the executive director of the Virginia Seafood Council after 27 years of dedicated service to Virginia’s seafood industry; and
WHEREAS, Frances Porter devoted her professional life to representing industry members in a respectful manner at meetings, conferences, trade shows, and marketing seminars; and
WHEREAS, Frances Porter dedicated herself to developing a strong rapport with the Virginia legislature, government agencies, academic community, and environmental groups to further Virginia’s seafood industry; and
WHEREAS, Frances Porter’s tireless efforts on behalf of Virginia’s seafood industry resulted in statewide recognition of the importance of the industry to the Commonwealth; and
WHEREAS, Frances Porter conducted business for the Virginia Seafood Council with the highest level of class and dignity and through her work the organization continues to thrive and develop today; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend Frances W. Porter on the occasion of her retirement; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Frances W. Porter as an expression of the General Assembly’s admiration and gratitude for her commitment to the Commonwealth’s seafood industry.
