HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 279
Commending Bobby Bondurant.

WHEREAS, Bobby Bondurant served on the Amherst Town Council from July 1, 2004, through December 31, 2010, and in that capacity he worked to meet the needs of the citizens of Amherst with responsibility and diligence; and

WHEREAS, among the responsibilities that Bobby Bondurant capably undertook during his tenure on the Amherst Town Council was serving as chairman of the Community Relations Committee; in that capacity, he encouraged regular and open communication between town officials and local organizations, businesses, and residents; and

WHEREAS, as a member of the council’s Finance Committee, Bobby Bondurant focused on wise and prudent stewardship of town funds, especially during the uncertain and challenging economic conditions that municipal governments have faced recently; and

WHEREAS, as a member of the Amherst Centennial Program Committee, Bobby Bondurant strove to produce a small-town centennial celebration that would commemorate the historic town’s many accomplishments and honor all those who have proudly called Amherst home; and

WHEREAS, Bobby Bondurant worked closely with fellow members of the Amherst Town Council, the mayor, and local government employees to meet the needs of the residents of Amherst and to maintain its charm and small-town character; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend a dedicated public servant and outstanding Virginian, Bobby Bondurant; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Bobby Bondurant as an expression of the General Assembly’s respect and appreciation for his many contributions and years of dedicated service to the Town of Amherst.
