12103955DWHEREAS, Dr. Cynthia Patricia Chapman, an admired spiritual leader from Chesapeake, died on November 14, 2011; and
WHEREAS, a woman of faith, Dr. Cynthia Chapman was called to the ministry and served as pastor of Mission of Deliverance Temple, COGIC, and as founder and president of Vineyard Global Ministries; and
WHEREAS, under Dr. Cynthia Chapman’s leadership, the congregations experienced spiritual revivals, heard impassioned words based on the scriptures, and gained a renewed commitment to serve one another and the community; and
WHEREAS, a gifted vocalist, Dr. Cynthia Chapman inspired and touched those around her when she lifted her voice in enthusiastic praise; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Cynthia Chapman reached out to those in need and served her family, God, and community with great diligence; and
WHEREAS, predeceased by her husband, Lee, Cynthia Chapman leaves behind to cherish her memory, her children, Vickie, Willie, Michael, and Stanley, and their families; her mother, Vera; and numerous other family members, friends, and admirers; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby note with great sadness the loss of Dr. Cynthia Patricia Chapman; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Dr. Cynthia Patricia Chapman as an expression of the General Assembly’s respect for her memory.
