Celebrating the life of Marion A. Boush.

WHEREAS, Marion A. Boush, a devoted wife and mother, successful small business owner, and person of strong faith, passed away on April 23, 2011; and

WHEREAS, Marion Boush was born in Edenton, North Carolina, and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School; she worked at the Norfolk Naval Base in a variety of positions and also was employed by the United States Postal Service; and

WHEREAS, Marion Boush, a successful entrepreneur who lived in Norfolk for much of her life, owned Marion’s Beauty Salon; a beautician for many years, she found pleasure in bringing out each client’s best features and emphasizing a person’s most attractive qualities; and

WHEREAS, as a member of the Adeline Ward Chapter Number 197 (Order of the Eastern Star) for more than 25 years, Marion Boush was active in and supported the organization’s charitable and educational endeavors; she was also a member of the Huntersville Senior Citizens Group; and

WHEREAS, religion was a strong force in Marion Boush’s life; she was a longtime member of Metropolitan A.M.E. Church and appreciated the support and love the church offered her and her family; and

WHEREAS, predeceased by her husband, Milton Boush, and her son, Milton Boush, Jr., Marion Boush is fondly remembered by her granddaughters, Cicely and Catrina, and their families; a devoted adopted son, Milton Canty, and his family; and a host of extended family and friends; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby note with great sadness the loss of a respected citizen and friend to all who knew her, Marion A. Boush; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Marion A. Boush as an expression of the General Assembly’s respect for her memory.
