HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 207
Commending Larry C. Howdyshell.

WHEREAS, Larry C. Howdyshell retired as the North River Magisterial District Supervisor on the Augusta County Board of Supervisors after 11 years of distinguished service to his fellow residents; and

WHEREAS, a respected leader, Larry Howdyshell served as vice-chair of the Board of Supervisors in 2002 and as chair in 2003 and 2009; and

WHEREAS, Larry Howdyshell effectively represented Augusta County on local and regional boards, committees, and commissions as he worked with others in the community on a variety of policy issues; and

WHEREAS, Larry Howdyshell generously dedicated his time and energies to ensuring the efficient and effective operation of local government, responding to residents’ needs, and working cooperatively with fellow supervisors, county staff, and the county administrator; and

WHEREAS, a full-time farmer, Larry Howdyshell provided valuable agricultural insight to the Board of Supervisors and worked diligently to ensure that the needs of the local farming community were represented; and

WHEREAS, Larry Howdyshell has been a longtime supporter of the community with service as the director of the Shenandoah Valley Electric Cooperative and member of VFW Collins-Hughes Post 3136; and

WHEREAS, a dedicated public servant, Larry Howdyshell demonstrated great commitment to the residents, businesses, and visitors of Augusta County during his tenure; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly commend Larry C. Howdyshell for his outstanding service and devotion to his fellow residents during his service on the Augusta County Board of Supervisors; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Larry C. Howdyshell as an expression of the General Assembly’s appreciation and gratitude for his public service.
