12103271DWHEREAS, Holly Frost was honored for her many outstanding contributions to local, regional, and state emergency medical services with a 2011 Governor’s EMS Award for Outstanding Pre-Hospital Educator; and
WHEREAS, Holly Frost, as assistant dean of Emergency Medical Services in the Allied Health Division of Northern Virginia Community College, oversees the training of new emergency medical technicians (EMTs); and
WHEREAS, an inspiring mentor, Holly Frost has helped develop new courses for EMTs at Northern Virginia Community College, including pediatric advanced life support and advanced cardiac life support; and
WHEREAS, a visionary leader, Holly Frost created a pilot program at Northern Virginia Community College to help registered nurses become EMTs and worked with Rappahannock Community College to create an extension of one of Northern Virginia Community College’s programs; and
WHEREAS, Holly Frost also serves as the faculty coordinator/liaison and service learning coordinator for the Health Careers Opportunity Program, which reaches out to at-risk students to educate them about careers in the health professions; and
WHEREAS, despite a busy professional schedule, Holly Frost, a highly trained life member of the Sterling Volunteer Rescue Squad, has responded to countless calls for assistance in the community, providing essential medical and emergency aid to those in need; and
WHEREAS, a worthy recipient of the prestigious 2011 Governor’s EMS Award for Outstanding Pre-Hospital Educator, Holly Frost has played a pivotal role in ensuring that Sterling, the Northern Virginia area, and the Commonwealth have a force of dedicated and trained first responders; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend Holly Frost on her selection as the 2011 Governor’s EMS Award for Outstanding Pre-Hospital Educator recipient; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Holly Frost as an expression of the General Assembly’s congratulations and admiration for her commitment and contributions to emergency medical services in the Commonwealth.
