HOUSE BILL NO. 349 AMENDMENT IN THE NATURE OF A SUBSTITUTE (Proposed by the Senate Committee on Rules on February 24, 2012) (Patron Prior to Substitute--Delegate Cox, M.K.) A BILL to amend and reenact the second enactment of Chapter 436 of the Acts of Assembly of 2009, relating to the Virginia Bicentennial of the American War of 1812 Commission.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1.  That the second enactment of Chapter 436 of the Acts of Assembly of 2009 is amended and reenacted as follows:

2.  For the 2009, 2010, and 2011 2012 and 2013 interims, the Commission may be funded from the operating budgets of the Clerk of the Senate and the Clerk of the House of Delegates upon the approval of the Joint Rules Committee. If the Commission is not funded by a separate appropriation in the appropriation act for the 2012-2014 2014-2016 biennium, this chapter shall expire on July 1 of the fiscal year that the Commission fails to receive such funding.

2. That the provisions of this act shall not become effective unless an appropriation of general funds effectuating the purposes of this act is included in a general appropriation act passed by the 2012 Session of the General Assembly which becomes law.
