12101778DBe it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. § 1. That the Board of Housing and Community Development shall amend the Statewide Fire Prevention Code (§ 27-94 et seq.) of the Code of
Virginia in accordance with the provisions of § 27-97 of the Code of Virginia to distinguish the insurance requirements between
consumer fireworks show as defined in § D.1.11 of the
National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1126, 2006 edition, and display fireworks shows as defined in §
D.1.17 of NFPA 1126, 2006 edition. No permit holder for a
consumer fireworks show shall be required to have insurance
coverage for potential damages to a person or persons or to property by reason
of the permitted display and arising from any acts of the permit holder in
excess of $500,000.
