Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1.  § 1. That the Superintendent of State Police or his designee shall on behalf of the Commonwealth seek to enter into a memorandum of agreement with the United States Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, as authorized under 8 U.S.C. § 1357(g), to permit the State Police to perform federal immigration law-enforcement functions in the Commonwealth, limited by such agreement to those immigration law-enforcement functions performed by such State Police officers following the arrest of an alien.
