SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
Investment in research and technology in the Commonwealth. Creates the Virginia Research and Technology Investment Program, consisting of the Commonwealth Research Commercialization Fund (CRCF) and the GAP Fund program administered by the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Investment Authority. The bill makes significant changes to the existing CRCF, including creating a Commercialization Subfund, a Research Match Subfund, and an Eminent Scholar Subfund, and sets up a new process for the application, review, and award of funds from the CRCF. This bill was incorporated by SB 1485.
