SUMMARY AS PASSED HOUSE:

Appointments to the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority Board of Directors. In appointing Virginia members of the board of directors of the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority, the Northern Virginia Transportation Commission shall include the Secretary of Transportation's designee or his voting member as a principal.

SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:

Appointments to the Northern Virginia Transportation Commission and the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority Board of Directors.  Provides that the Governor shall appoint an additional member to the Northern Virginia Transportation Commission and that appointees have significant experience in mass transit planning, finance, engineering, construction, or management.
