11100993DWHEREAS, Maxine Roberta Knight of Norfolk, a beloved citizen of the Commonwealth, died on April 30, 2010; and
WHEREAS, a native of Norfolk, Maxine Knight was born on September 25, 1948; and
WHEREAS, a valued and hardworking employee, Maxine Knight worked for more than 44 years at Eggleston Services in Norfolk, where she loved her job and interacting with those around her; and
WHEREAS, known for her happy disposition and sweet spirit, Maxine Knight brought great joy to those she came in contact with and brightened the day of many people; and
WHEREAS, Maxine Knight was also a faithful member of St. Paul Church of God in Christ Church in Norfolk, where she worshiped and enjoyed the fellowship of the other members; and
WHEREAS, predeceased by her mother, Emma Knight Ferebee, Maxine Knight leaves behind to cherish her memory Joyce Phillips, Richard Knight, LeAnn, Richard, Jr., Matthew, Kevin, and numerous other family members and friends; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the Senate, the House of Delegates concurring, That the General Assembly hereby note with great sadness the loss of a beloved citizen of the Commonwealth, Maxine Roberta Knight; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Maxine Roberta Knight as an expression of the General Assembly’s respect for her memory.
