11104142DBe it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 46.2-1112.1 as follows:
§ 46.2-1112.1. No permit required for transportation of utility poles.
No permit shall be required for vehicles in excess of lengths authorized in this article if the vehicles are being used to transport utility poles, provided that (i) no pole in any load is more than 80 feet long, (ii) no pole extends more than 10 feet beyond the front bumper of the vehicle, and (iii) the vehicle is otherwise in compliance with the requirements of § 46.2-1112. No such vehicle shall be required to be accompanied by any escort vehicle.
