2011 SESSION
WHEREAS, Billy Wayne Craig, a respected citizen of the Commonwealth and resident of Patrick Springs, died on September 1, 2010; and
WHEREAS, known as Wayne to family and friends, Billy Wayne Craig was born in Patrick County on March 18, 1952, to Lester and Lucille Rakes Craig; and
WHEREAS, Billy Wayne Craig took pride in his three children, Brianne, Bryan, and Marty, and great delight in his five grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, undaunted by any problem large or small, Billy Wayne Craig worked as a fixer at the Narroflex fabric manufacturing facility in Stuart; and
WHEREAS, committed to creating a better world and helping others develop through personal growth, leadership development, and community involvement, Billy Wayne Craig was a lifetime member of the Patrick County chapter of the Virginia Jaycees; and
WHEREAS, recognized as a natural leader and a positive role model in his community, Billy Wayne Craig served as president of the Virginia Jaycees; and
WHEREAS, a lover of great music and long summer days, Billy Wayne Craig was one of the founders of the Stuart Beach Music Festival, which will celebrate its 30th anniversary in Wayside Park in June 2011; and
WHEREAS, active in Patrick County politics from a young age, Billy Wayne Craig served as the chair of the Democratic Party; and
WHEREAS, holding home, family, and community in the highest esteem, Billy Wayne Craig was a respected member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles of Patrick County; and
WHEREAS, Billy Wayne Craig will be fondly remembered by his children, Brianne, Bryan, and Marty; his parents, Lester and Lucille; his brothers, Lester and Mike; and many family members and friends; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby note with great sadness the loss of Billy Wayne Craig, respected citizen of the Commonwealth; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Billy Wayne Craig as an expression of the General Assembly's respect for his memory.
