Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1.  § 1. That the Department of Medical Assistance Services shall issue a request for, and shall receive and consider, proposals for the coordination and provision of nonemergency medical transport services in Planning Districts I and II and may enter into a contract with a provider other than the current provider of nonemergency medical transport services upon expiration of an existing contract.
