11104786DBe it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. § 1. That the Secretary of Health and Human Resources, the Secretary of Agriculture, and the Director of the Department of General Services be requested to develop nutritional guidelines for foods served in state agencies and institutions, including the feasibility of using Virginia-grown food products. In developing the guidelines, the Secretaries shall consider any federal dietary guidelines developed by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
§ 2. As used in this act, "Virginia-grown food products" means substances and products used by humans as food and drink that are planted, cultivated, harvested, raised, or collected within Virginia.
