SUMMARY AS PASSED SENATE:
Civil commitment of sexually violent predators; screening. Provides that a licensed mental health professional certified by the Board of Psychology as a sex offender treatment provider may perform a screening for an initial determination of whether a prisoner meets the definition of a sexually violent predator when there is no specific scientifically validated instrument to measure the risk assessment of a prisoner.
SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
Civil commitment of sexually violent predators; evaluation. Provides that an evaluation for initial determination of whether a prisoner meets the definition of a sexually violent predator may be performed by a licensed professional counselor or licensed clinical social worker.
