SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
Eligibility for in-state tuition; dependents of civilian personnel of the military. Provides that dependent students of civilians employed by the United States Department of Defense who transfer to a military base in Virginia to avoid the loss of employment will be eligible for in-state or reduced tuition from the date of the parent's or guardian's reassignment to a military base in the Commonwealth. This bill further provides that in the event the parent or guardian is transferred to a military base outside of Virginia before the end of any academic year, the student will continue to be eligible for in-state tuition until the end of the relevant academic year.
