SUMMARY AS PASSED HOUSE: (all summaries)
Virginia Health Workforce Development Authority; creation. Creates the Virginia Health Workforce Development Authority to take over the duties of the Statewide Area Health Education Centers Program. The mission of the Authority is to facilitate the development of a statewide health professions pipeline that identifies, educates, recruits, and retains a diverse, appropriately geographically distributed and culturally competent quality workforce. Also exempts the Authority from the Virginia Personnel Act, the Virginia Public Procurement Act, and taxation. This bill is identical to SB731 (Reynolds).
