SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 263
Commending Sally Davis.

WHEREAS, Sally Davis provided outstanding service to Prince William students, including special education students, while working for Prince William County Public Schools for 32 years; and

WHEREAS, Sally Davis not only served students but also became a leader advocating for teachers and other staff in the school system; and

WHEREAS, Sally Davis retired from Prince William County Public Schools in 2005; and

WHEREAS, Sally Davis not only has continued to advocate for education and for educators in Prince William County but also has become a tireless advocate for education and educators throughout Virginia; and

WHEREAS, since her retirement, Sally Davis has regularly attended and participated in subcommittee and committee meetings on education issues and other matters important to educators; and

WHEREAS, committed to helping protect and improve the lives of Prince William residents, Sally Davis has been very active in community matters in Prince William County; and

WHEREAS, Sally Davis and her husband, Jake, raised their family in Prince William County and are actively involved in the lives of their granddaughters, providing strong role models for them; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the Senate, the House of Delegates concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend Sally Davis on her service to residents of Prince William County and the Commonwealth of Virginia over many years; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Sally Davis as an expression of the General Assembly’s admiration and gratitude for her commitment to students, teachers, and all Virginians.
