Commending Joseph S. Crane.

WHEREAS, Joseph S. Crane, the respected and admired assistant director of the Virginia Department of Social Services Division of Child Support Enforcement, retired on December 31, 2009, after 21 years of exemplary service to the Commonwealth; and

WHEREAS, Joseph S. Crane worked for the Division of Child Support Enforcement in various capacities during his tenure with the agency, including as regional administrator, acting director, and assistant director of program administration and support; and

WHEREAS, Joseph S. Crane provided leadership to the Division of Child Support Enforcement as a Department of Social Services strategic planner, auditor of public accounts, and agency representative on the Child Support Guidelines Review Panel; and

WHEREAS, Joseph S. Crane served on the Child Support Guidelines Review Panel for nearly 15 years, frequently as the panel’s chairman; and

WHEREAS, Joseph S. Crane was a dedicated member of the Child Support Guidelines Review Panel and was recognized by that body at its last meeting for his outstanding contribution to the work of the panel and ultimately its work in providing guidance and support for the children of the Commonwealth; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the Senate, the House of Delegates concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend Joseph S. Crane for his professionalism, unwavering dedication, and years of service to the Commonwealth and his fellow citizens; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Joseph S. Crane as an expression of the General Assembly’s appreciation of his outstanding achievements and best wishes for a happy and rewarding retirement.
