AMENDMENT IN THE NATURE OF A SUBSTITUTE

A BILL to amend the Code of Virginia by adding in Article 1 of Chapter 9 of Title 18.2 a section numbered 18.2-414.3, relating to the obstruction, hindrance, and interference of public transportation service; penalty.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding in Article 1 of Chapter 9 of Title 18.2 a section numbered 18.2-414.3 as follows:

§ 18.2-414.3. Obstructing, hindering, and interfering with public transportation service.

Any person who obstructs, hinders, or interferes with the operation or operator of a transit vehicle engaged in the performance of a public transportation service or a person engaged in his official duties as a conductor, station agent, or station attendant of a public transportation service is guilty of a Class 1 misdemeanor.
