2010 SESSION
WHEREAS, Earl Ambrose Game, a respected citizen and businessman from Newport News, died on March 2, 2010; and
WHEREAS, a native of Arba, North Carolina, Earl Game came to the Hampton Roads area in 1948; and
WHEREAS, a dedicated and hard-working employee, Earl Game worked at the A&P grocery store and managed the Langley Field Commissary before deciding to open his own grocery store, Game’s Farmers Market, Inc., in 1972; and
WHEREAS, Earl Game’s business philosophy was to “have reasonable prices and treat people nice,” which brought customers back year after year; and
WHEREAS, a friendly man who created a positive shopping atmosphere, Earl Game was committed to his customers and after the store was damaged in a devastating fire in 2007, decided to rebuild; and
WHEREAS, Earl Game continued to run the store until his death, visiting with customers and encouraging his employees; and
WHEREAS, in his almost 40 years as owner of Game’s Farmers Market, Earl Game was dedicated to his company, his employees, and his customers; and
WHEREAS, a devoted family man, Earl Game will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by his loving wife, Peggy; his children, Penny, David, and Karen and their families; and numerous other family members, friends, and customers; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Delegates hereby note with great sadness the loss of a respected and admired citizen, Earl Ambrose Game; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Earl Ambrose Game as an expression of the House of Delegates’ respect for his memory.
