HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 23
Commending Kiara N. Lee.

 

Agreed to by the House of Delegates, March 10, 2010

 

WHEREAS, Kiara N. Lee, a senior and a stellar basketball player at Franklin High School of the Franklin City Public Schools, is recognized in 2010 for the distinction of scoring 1,000 points in her high school basketball career; and

WHEREAS, Kiara Lee scored her 1,000th point in an away game against Charles City High School on February 12, 2010, which was a notable win for the Lady Broncos; and

WHEREAS, with a veteran’s knowledge of basketball, Kiara Lee accomplished scoring 1,000 points while also being talented enough to play when needed in all five positions on the basketball court; and

WHEREAS, an excellent and gifted athlete, Kiara Lee was named as a member of the first team of the 2009 - 2010 All-District Basketball Teams for the Tri-Rivers District; and

WHEREAS, Kiara Lee and all the hard-working members of the Franklin High School girls’ basketball team, led by coach and athletic director Mona Sumblin, have provided students, parents, and fans in the community with an exciting and memorable basketball season; and

WHEREAS, a role model, mentor, and inspiration to her fellow basketball players, Kiara Lee is a team leader and more importantly a supportive team player and one of the Lady Broncos’ biggest cheerleaders; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the House of Delegates hereby commend and congratulate Kiara N. Lee for scoring 1,000 points in her high school basketball career and for her many achievements as a Lady Bronco; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Kiara N. Lee as an expression of the House of Delegates’ appreciation of her commitment to the sport of basketball and best wishes for success in all her future endeavors.
