Commending the Robinson High School girls' swim team.

WHEREAS, the Robinson High School girls’ swim team from Fairfax won the Virginia High School League Group AAA state championship at the State Swim and Dive finals on February 19, 2010; and

WHEREAS, the Robinson High School girls’ swim team dominated the finals with 227.5 points, beating the closest competitor by more than 60 points; and

WHEREAS, the state championship win was Robinson High School girls’ swim team's second consecutive state championship and the team’s victory was highlighted by impressive individual performances; and

WHEREAS, sophomore Rachel Canty claimed a third-place finish in the 100-meter breaststroke and contributed as a member of the 200-meter freestyle and 200-meter medley relays, while the entire team worked hard and contributed throughout the season and championship meets; and

WHEREAS, the exemplary performance of the Lady Rams is a tribute to the talent, dedication, and perseverance of the team members; the leadership of Head Coach Clayton Joyner and his staff; and the support of the students, parents, and faculty of Robinson High School; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly commend the 2009-2010 Robinson High School girls’ swim team on winning its second consecutive Virginia High School League Group AAA state championship; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Head Coach Clayton Joyner as an expression of the General Assembly’s admiration for the championship performance of the 2009-2010 Robinson High School girls’ swim team.
