Commending Patricia Macintyre.

WHEREAS, Patricia Macintyre was honored by the Council for the Arts of Herndon, the Herndon Fortnightly Club, and the Herndon Woman’s Club on March 7, 2010; and

WHEREAS, the Virginia Commission for the Arts is sponsoring Minds Wide Open, honoring Women in the Arts; and

WHEREAS, Patricia Macintyre is a graduate of the Corcoran School of Art in Washington, D.C.; and

WHEREAS, Patricia Macintyre has graciously given of her time, talents, and treasures in promoting the arts for over 30 years; and

WHEREAS, Patricia Macintyre’s artwork has been exhibited in Herndon, Virginia, and throughout the world; and

WHEREAS, Patricia Macintyre has contributed artwork to many projects, including children’s books; and

WHEREAS, Patricia Macintyre is a current board member for the Herndon Foundation for the Cultural Arts, and Council for the Arts of Herndon; and

WHEREAS, Patricia Macintyre produced and hosted her own ACE award-winning cable television show “You’ve Gotta Have Art”; and

WHEREAS, Patricia Macintyre serves as the art resource teacher at the Reston Children’s Center; and

WHEREAS, Patricia Macintyre created countless drawings of the homes featured each year on the Herndon Homes Tour; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly commend Patricia Macintyre for being honored by the Council for the Arts of Herndon, the Herndon Fortnightly Club, and the Herndon Woman’s Club; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Patricia Macintyre as an expression of the General Assembly’s congratulations and gratitude for her service to the citizens of Herndon.
