2010 SESSION
10105724DWHEREAS, the Boys and Girls Club of the Center District of Fauquier County was honored as a 2009 Citizen of the Year by the Fauquier County Board of Supervisors; and
WHEREAS, the Boys and Girls Club of Fauquier County was founded in 1994 by Jerry Wood and Buddy Curtis in an effort to help youth from economically challenged environments; and
WHEREAS, the Boys and Girls Club of Fauquier County provides a safe, structured after-school environment for youth in the County; and
WHEREAS, the Boys and Girls Club of Fauquier County recently passed a major milestone by purchasing a permanent clubhouse in Warrenton, which will allow the Club to continue its important work; and
WHEREAS, committed to making a difference in the community, the Boys and Girls Club of Fauquier County provides a vital service to the youth of Fauquier County; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly commend and congratulate the Boys and Girls Club of Fauquier County as a 2009 Fauquier County Citizen of the Year for the Center District; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the Boys and Girls Club of Fauquier County as an expression of the General Assembly’s gratitude for the Club’s dedication to the community of Fauquier County.
