Celebrating the life of Mary Ann Brinkley Ingram.

WHEREAS, Mary Ann Brinkley Ingram, a devoted wife, mother, and community volunteer, died on November 18, 2009; and

WHEREAS, Mary Ann Ingram’s great joy in life was her family; she enjoyed 49 years of marriage to her beloved husband, Delegate Riley Ingram, and they had three wonderful children; and

WHEREAS, Mary Ann Ingram worked diligently as a supervisor at the Firestone Hopewell Plant where she was a valued and respected employee; she retired after 30 years of dedicated service; and

WHEREAS, a hard-working community volunteer, Mary Ann Ingram generously gave of her time and talents in the community as a member of CACT Sorority, Beta Mu "Theta" Sorority, Hopewell Jaycettes, and the Hopewell Quarterback League, and as a supporter of The James House (EVE); and

WHEREAS, Mary Ann Ingram lived her faith through her works and through her commitment to the Hopewell Church of the Nazarene where she was actively involved in the church’s many missions in the community; and

WHEREAS, Mary Ann Ingram was a vibrant and active woman who loved visiting the beach, working in her yard, and spending time with her family; and

WHEREAS, known for her wit and humor, Mary Ann Ingram brought laughter and joy to her family members and friends and leaves behind an enduring legacy of love and devotion to her family and community; and

WHEREAS, Mary Ann Ingram will be greatly missed by her loving husband, Riley Ingram; her children Tracy, Stacy, and Riley; grandchildren Taylor, Parker, Dylan, and Drake; and numerous other family members and friends; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby note with sadness the passing of Mary Ann Brinkley Ingram; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Mary Ann Brinkley Ingram as an expression of the General Assembly’s respect for her memory.
