Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1.  That § 15.2-107.1 of the Code of Virginia is amended and reenacted as follows:

§ 15.2-107.1. Advertisement of legal notices on web sites.

A. In addition to any requirements that a locality advertise legal notices in a newspaper having a general circulation in the locality, such notices may also be published on the locality's World Wide Web site.

B. In any instance in which a locality is required to publish a notice in a newspaper having a general circulation in the locality, and the locality in good faith attempts to have such notice published, a failure by the publisher of the newspaper to properly publish such notice shall not invalidate any action of the locality if the locality has also published such notice [ pursuant to subsection A on the locality’s World Wide Web site for the period required by law ] .
