HOUSE BILL NO. 737 AMENDMENT IN THE NATURE OF A SUBSTITUTE (Proposed by the House Committee on Appropriations on February 12, 2010) (Patron Prior to Substitute--Delegate Albo) A BILL to amend the Code of Virginia by adding in Chapter 1 of Title 40.1 a section numbered 40.1-11.2, relating to participation in E-Verify program.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding in Chapter 1 of Title 40.1 a section numbered 40.1-11.2 as follows:

§ 40.1-11.2. Participation in E-Verify program.

All agencies of the Commonwealth and localities shall be enrolled in the E-Verify program by December 1, 2010; and on and after December 1, 2010, use the E-Verify program for each newly hired employee who is to perform work within the Commonwealth.
