2010 SESSION
10101233DBe it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 29.1-302.1:1 as follows:
§ 29.1-302.1:1. Special lifetime hunting license for permanently disabled persons to hunt big game, and hunt with bow, crossbow, and muzzleloader.
A. There is hereby established a state resident special lifetime hunting license for permanently disabled persons, as defined in § 58.1-3217, to hunt in all counties and cities of the Commonwealth, and to hunt (i) bear, deer and turkey; (ii) with a bow and arrow during the special archery seasons; (iii) with a crossbow during special archery seasons; and (iv) with a muzzleloader during the special muzzleloading seasons. Any permanently disabled resident may apply for and receive from the Department this lifetime license, which shall be valid for the life of the individual, nontransferable, and permit the person to engage in the licensed activity on any property in the Commonwealth according to restrictions and regulations. The fee for this license shall be $100. The Board may subsequently revise the cost of this license pursuant to its authority under § 29.1-103. The license shall serve in lieu of the state resident basic hunting license, the special license for hunting bear, deer and turkey, the special archery license, the special crossbow license, and the special muzzleloading license.
