10104075DBe it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 16.1-279.2 as follows:
§ 16.1-279.2. Protective orders; minor may petition.
A minor may petition for a protective order pursuant to this title or Chapter 9.1 (§ 19.2-152.8 et seq.) of Title 19.2 with or without the consent of a parent, legal guardian, or other person standing in loco parentis to the minor and who has care and control of the minor. The minor may participate in the court proceedings on his own behalf and a court shall appoint a guardian ad litem for the minor.
