CHAPTER 169 An Act to amend the Code of Virginia by adding a section numbered 4.1-309.1, relating to possession or consumption of an alcoholic beverage while operating a school bus. [H 1353] Approved March 12, 2010

 

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 4.1-309.1 as follows:

§ 4.1-309.1. Possessing or consuming alcoholic beverage while operating a school bus; penalty.

Any person who possesses or consumes an alcoholic beverage while operating a school bus and transporting children is guilty of a Class 1 misdemeanor. For purposes of this section, "school bus" shall have the same meaning as provided in § 46.2-100.
