SUMMARY AS ENACTED WITH GOVERNOR'S RECOMMENDATION: (all summaries)
Sales and use tax; fabrication of animal meat, grains, vegetables, and foodstuffs. Exempts from sales and use tax the fabrication of animal meat, grains, vegetables, or other foodstuffs when the purchaser supplies the food stuffs and the foodstuffs are consumed by the purchaser or his family, or when the purchaser is a non-profit organization or donates the foodstuffs to a non-profit organization. The bill also exempts from sales and use tax beginning July 1, 2010, and ending June 30, 2020, computer equipment purchased or leased for the processing, storage, retrieval, or communication of data used in a data center that (i) is located in Virginia, (ii) results in a new capital investment of at least $150 million, and (iii) results in the creation of at least 50 new jobs associated with the operation or maintenance of the data center. This bill incorporates SB 813 and SB 1132.
