SUMMARY AS PASSED SENATE:
Insurance agents; limited burial insurance authorities. Expands the definition of a limited burial insurance authority to include the authority of a person who is licensed to engage in the practice of funeral service, preneed funeral planning, funeral directing, embalming, or operating a funeral service establishment to solicit applications for life insurance in amounts of $10,000 or less in connection with the funding of a preneed funeral contract.
SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
Insurance agents; limited burial insurance authorities. Revises the definition of a limited burial insurance authority to include the authority to solicit applications for life insurance in amounts of $10,000 or less in connection with the funding of a preneed funeral contract. A limited burial insurance authority would no longer include the authority to solicit members of a group life insurance association for burial association group life insurance certificates.
