SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
Tobacco products tax; moist snuff. Changes the tax on moist snuff from 10 percent of the manufacturer's sales price to $0.26 per ounce, and dedicates each fiscal year 50 percent of the amount by which the total amount of revenue collected from the tobacco products tax exceeds the total amount of revenue collected from such tax on smokeless tobacco in the fiscal year ending June 30, 2009, to the Office of the Attorney General to be used for the enforcement of tobacco-related laws. The bill also requires tobacco products manufacturers to file a monthly report detailing the identity of each entity in the Commonwealth to which the manufacturer shipped tobacco products, and the amount of tobacco products shipped, by type of product and brand.
