SUMMARY AS PASSED: (all summaries)
Revocation or suspension of license to practice law; professional malpractice insurance. Requires an attorney who is found guilty of engaging in any criminal activity that violates the Virginia Rules of Professional Conduct resulting in loss of a client's property to maintain professional malpractice insurance, during the time for which he is licensed to practice law, if the attorney is allowed to retain his license, or is permitted to have his license re-instated or restored. The Virginia State Bar shall establish standards setting forth the amount of coverage the attorney is to maintain. The bill also requires the attorney to certify to the Virginia State Bar that he has the required insurance.
