SUMMARY AS PASSED HOUSE:
Transfer students; Virtual Virginia credit. Provides that course credits earned for online courses taken in the Department of Education's Virtual Virginia program will transfer to Virginia public schools in accordance with provisions of the standards of accreditation.
SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
Transfer students; Virtual Virginia credit. Requires local school boards to make provisions to require the acceptance of Virtual Virginia credits earned by a student while attending another public secondary school or nonpublic school, or through home instruction. Also requires the acceptance of Virtual Virginia credits earned for a course in progress at the time of the student's transfer, as well as future credits earned for a Virtual Virginia course in the same course series at the time of the student's transfer.
