SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
Personal information privacy; sale of credit inquiry information. Prohibits credit reporting agencies and other business entities from selling to, or exchanging with, a third party any information regarding a credit inquiry that arose from an individual's application for a residential mortgage loan, without the individual's consent, when the sale or exchange of such information is triggered by an inquiry made in response to an application for credit. The prohibition does not apply to existing mortgagees or to certain information provided in connection with mortgage origination or servicing. Persons aggrieved by a violation may recover damages of $100 per violation, attorney fees, and costs under the Personal Information Privacy Act.
