SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:

Income tax credit; animal adoption fee tax credit.  Allows a nonrefundable credit to individuals who adopt animals from pounds or nonprofit shelters, for taxable years beginning on and after January 1, 2009. The credit amount shall equal the adoption fee or $100, whichever is less, and may only be taken by the taxpayer for the taxable year in which the animal is adopted.
