SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
Property damage or personal injury; parental liability. Establishes that parents have a duty to exercise reasonable care so as to control their child and, if this duty is not fulfilled, parents may be held liable for the full amount of property damage or personal injury caused through the actions of the child or for damages of $5,000, whichever is less. Current law caps parental liability at $2,500 for damage to public or private property.
