SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
High grass and weeds; civil penalty. Expands the authority of the City of Newport News to require that owners of not only vacant developed and undeveloped properties but also owners of occupied property cut grass, weeds, and other foreign growth on the property. If such property owner fails to do so after reasonable notice, the City may cut such grass, weeds, or other foreign growth and the cost and expenses thereof shall be chargeable to and paid by the owner of the property.
