SUMMARY AS PASSED HOUSE:
Purchase of firearms by members of the United States Armed Forces. Allows active duty service members of the United States Armed Forces or the Virginia National Guard to purchase more than one handgun within a 30-day period. The bill has a delayed effective date of January 1, 2010.
SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
Purchase of firearms by members of the United States Armed Forces. Allows active duty members of the United States Armed Forces or the Virginia National Guard to purchase more than one handgun within a 30-day period. The bill also allows for a United States Department of Defense identification card to be used to establish proof of citizenship or lawful residence for purposes of purchasing assault firearms.
