HB 1791 Officers of election; authorizes local electoral board to appoint independent voters to serve.
Introduced by: Robert H. Brink | all patrons ... notes | add to my profiles
SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
Elections; officers of election; independent voters. Authorizes local electoral boards to appoint independent voters to serve as officers of election as long as the chief and assistant chief officers represent the two leading political parties. Current law requires equal representation of the two major political parties in the appointment of officers of election, and does not explicitly authorize additional appointments of voters who are not nominated by a political party.
