SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
Mortgage Lender and Broker Act; homeownership education program. Prohibits licensed mortgage lenders and mortgage brokers and certain other persons exempt from the licensing requirements of the Mortgage Lender and Broker Act from committing to make a high-risk mortgage loan unless the prospective borrower has completed a homeownership education course that has been approved by the Federal National Mortgage Association, Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation, the Bureau of Financial Institutions, or the Virginia Housing Development Authority.
