SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
Juvenile records; confidentiality. Allows the Department of Juvenile Justice to share with law enforcement the information of a juvenile, without request, if the Department reasonably believes that it would aid in a criminal investigation involving a predicate criminal act or a criminal street gang as criminal street gang is defined in § 18.2-46.1. The bill also provides that a local court services unit shall provide information on criminal gang activity to the State Police, a local police department, a sheriff's office, or the locally designated gang coordinator, gang task force, or law-enforcement task force, and that the information shall include identifying information of the juvenile.
